Scientists Found a Star Bigger Than the Solar System — With a Black Hole Inside It

This isn't science fiction — it's one interpretation of objects discovered by the James Webb Space Telescope that resemble theoretical "quasistars": a hypothetical life stage of some of the earliest, most massive stars in the universe.
The mechanism is as strange as the scale: a black hole forms at the center of a dying supermassive star, but instead of instantly swallowing it, it briefly (cosmically speaking — meaning possibly millions of years) coexists with it, feeding on matter from outside while the star's outer layers keep shining.
The consequence: this could be the missing link explaining how supermassive black holes at the centers of galaxies managed to grow so fast after the Big Bang — a puzzle cosmology has been wrestling with for decades.
